YWCA Tribute to Women Awards

YWCA Tribute to Women nominations are due by 6 pm Central time on Friday, February 10, 2012.

Please take time to nominate an outstanding woman in your workplace, your child’s life, or someone who has given time to your community.  All qualifying nominees will be recognized at the awards program on Thursday, March 29 at the Washington Pavilion.  (Ask your nominee for a copy of their resume or bio to help you write the nomination.)

Tribute to Women Award categories are

• Banking and Finance – accounting, financial planning, investors, lending institutions, or other finance-related business
• Education – education staff at any level, from primary to secondary to higher education
• Executive Leadership – CEO, entrepreneur, president, executive director, owner
• Government and Law – local, state, or federal government, law, politics
• Healthcare and Science – including but not limited to health professionals, research, or other medical / science fields
• Nonprofit and Human Services – employee, volunteers, donors of a nonprofit entity, arts, chaplain, human services, religion, social services
• Professions – staff from any field not represented by a separate category
• Sales and Marketing – agency, media, real estate, retail or sales/marketing professionals from other fields
• Sylvia Henkin Mentoring Award - women over age 50 who have dedicated themselves to mentoring other women in their personal/professional lives
• Tomorrow’s Leader - a young woman between the ages of 21 and 35 with community service and professional success to indicate her potential for extraordinary leadership and service

The YWCA Tribute to Women Awards event is sponsored by Avera McKennan and is open to the public. It will be held on Thursday, March 29 and begins at 5 pm with a reception in the Washington Pavilion lobby. The reception includes hors d’oeuvres, live music, and a silent auction. The awards presentation starts at 7 pm in the Great Hall. Order your ticket(s) by March 22, 2012.
